I'm a Computer Science PhD student at the University of Texas at Dallas doing research in Computer Vision. More specifically, I work in shape and template detection applied to gesture recognition and image search and retrieval, as well as leveraging the GPU for these tasks.

I currently work in the Computational Geometry and Bioinformatics Lab and the Multimedia and Networking Lab. I've primarily worked as a research assistant, but over the last two years I've been a part of the CHAMPS program for teaching computer science to middle school students.

I'm also an amateur photographer of about 15 years (I can manually focus a large format press camera and make photographic prints on a bed sheet), cycling hobbyist, occasional outdoorsman, and a big believer in green and renewable energy.
